Tether Deposits and Withdrawals are "Blocked"

in #bitcoin6 years ago

No One Enters...No One Leaves.

Your Tether is worthless. After all...it can't be redeemed for anything, according to their terms of service.

You can't deposit USD into their systems to get Tether added to your account...because they don't have any banking relationships:

You also can't withdraw Tether from their system to get USD...also because they don't have any banking relationships...and because they don't have any USD to back up the Tether they print, er, issued (over $300 million in November alone, and $50 million since the start of December)....

They claim they can deal with "corporate" accounts only at this point. Yeah, OK. I'd love to hear what corporate accounts are working with them...other than Bitfinex.

Meanwhile, Tether continues to print...and print...and print...to "support demand"...even though no one can deposit or withdraw from their system. Riddle me that.

The blue line is the amount of Tether issued...

Tether and Bitfinex are closely related...if not the same entity.

Get your money off of Bitfinex ASAP! It's only a matter of time before a serious drop. Consider cashing out at least a small portion of your BTC holdings before the next crash...Tether is being used to prop up the market.

If you don't own your private keys, you don't own your coins, plain and simple.

This post is a continuation of my previous posts about the risks presented to the cryptocurrency ecosystem by Tether and Bitfinex. You can read them here:
