Coinbase added another (big) fee
Applies to USA only
Added to the Coinbase fee schedule:
"Base rate of 4% for all transactions"
This is in addition to the fees they already had.
Example:
You request $500 deposit from your bank account. The ACH transfer itself is "free" but they take $520 out of your account and keep $20. Base transaction fee.
Then you buy bitcoin and they take another 1.49% out of your remaining $500. This part is the same as before but come on.
You are basically paying 5.5% more than the quoted price for your BTC purchases at Coinbase.
My suggestion is use Gemini instead.
So many bad reviews and complaints about coinbase. I've been looking at alt in the US, I've read good reviews about coinmama, and Gemini. Thanks for letting folks know about coinbase! I think everyone should post about coinbase. Nothing but horror stories.
Wife & I abandoned Coinbase & headed over to Gemini.
I suggest everyone with a Coinbase account do the same!
