Do you do bitcoin mining?
Hello steemit poeople,
Im just started with bitcoin mining from home, buy some mining machines, i have now antminer s1, s2, s4, s5.
And just earn 5$ a day on bitcoins, it give hight noise in me house and its hot.. ^^
i was wondering if more people here use a mining machine on ther home to make bitcoins?
And people have build something that lower the noise?
You might want to do some calculation based on your cost of electricity. I have a feeling your loosing a lot more than $5 a day running that. Home bitcoin mining is pretty much a loosing bet right now. Big Chinese miners have nearly free electric making it cost prohibitive even with the latest and most efficient mining equipment. I'll give you some examples based on your equipment from my handy IRC bot. These are based on a cost of .10/kw/h
S1 specs:
A miner with a hashrate of 180.00 ghps that uses 430 watts at 0.10 USD/kWh requires a BTC price of 5,033.41 USD to break even on the cost of electric. The current bitcoin price is 609.49 USD a difference of -4,423.92 USD
S2 specs:
A miner with a hashrate of 1.00 thps that uses 1100 watts at 0.10 USD/kWh requires a BTC price of 2,317.71 USD to break even on the cost of electric. The current bitcoin price is 609.49 USD a difference of -1,708.22 USD
S3 specs:
A miner with a hashrate of 540.00 ghps that uses 430 watts at 0.10 USD/kWh requires a BTC price of 1,677.80 USD to break even on the cost of electric. The current bitcoin price is 609.49 USD a difference of -1,068.31 USD
S4 specs:
A miner with a hashrate of 2.20 thps that uses 1400 watts at 0.10 USD/kWh requires a BTC price of 1,340.82 USD to break even on the cost of electric. The current bitcoin price is 609.50 USD a difference of -731.32 USD
S5 specs:
A miner with a hashrate of 1.20 thps that uses 800 watts at 0.10 USD/kWh requires a BTC price of 1,404.67 USD to break even on the cost of electric. The current bitcoin price is 609.49 USD a difference of -795.18 USD
