According to Kyeonggi, the shopping center had already tried to add Bitcoin as a means of payment, so that it could be taken care of by the owners of its shops.

But the initiative had shortened to the extent that the latter "tended to lose their passwords, and could no longer use their corners," as the newspaper explained. It also states that shop owners will no longer face this problem once the HTS Coin payment system is installed.

Bitcoin will be offered among other payment methods, including payments in cash, credit cards or Alipay. Chung Gwi Yeon, CEO of Goto Mall, commented:

"I think that allowing Bitcoin payments is a real breakthrough, as it is prized by foreigners and young people who go to Goto Mall."
