BITCOIN HAS EXCEEDED, FOR THE FIRST TIME IN ITS HISTORY, THE $ 10,000 SYMBOLIC THRESHOLD

The famous portfolio manager Mike Novogratz was right: Bitcoin has just reached $ 10,000, according to data provided by CoinMarketCap, well before the end of 2017.

This symbolic bar has just been passed today, around 12:15 French time. It corresponds to about 8400 euros.

If its price does not exceed $ 10,000 on all platforms, its weighted course based on volumes traded has exceeded this psychological threshold.

The total capitalization of the BTC is now more than 168 billion dollars, which places it before some large companies, such as Disney, McDonald's or IBM.

The price of digital currency, which was only $ 0.08 in July 2010, has increased by more than 1000% since the beginning of 2017, from less than 1000 to more than $ 10,000.

At the same time, the total value of all crypto-currencies increased by more than 1700% over the year, from 18 to 309 billion dollars:

Bitcoin currently accounts for approximately 55% of this total (which CoinMarketCap presents as the "BTC dominance" index).
