Boosteroid: ICO Review

in #bitcoin7 years ago

Everyone who make an investment not to a bank deposit, think about how good it would be to buy a stake in Apple or Google, when these monsters were still at the start-up stage in the garage. But a couple of years ago it was unreal - prospective startups were immediately bought up by venture funds or structures of the same companies, and the amount to enter into such deal, as a rule, had six zeros, which immediately cut off small and medium-sized investors from this market.

Today, to enter a promising project at an early stage with a small amount is quite feasible by taking part in the ICO. An example of such a project, in my opinion, may be the Boosteroid, whose team announced the final stage of the token, which started in mid-January and will last until mid-February 2018.
So, what Boosteroid offers.

The idea for the guys is very simple - they are going to make a web service that provides web-users with the functionality of the so-called Cloud PC, in other words - the "cloud" computer. Connect to the service can be from any device from anywhere on the planet, where the Internet is.

If you know what is at issue, feel free to skip the next paragraph and go directly to the overview of the project. If you do not fully understand what does a "cloud" mean, let's get into the theory a bit.

"Cloud" is a technology that allows you to use the resources of third-party computers, as if they were standing in your room. Although in practice these virtual machines can be on servers thousands of kilometers away from you. Access to data centers with servers is provided over the Internet. At the same time, you may not even notice that you are working in a cloud program, because all actions are displayed on the screen of your local computer.

Why do you need this

The simplest example: you need to solve analytical problems that require large calculations or work with heavy graphics, or just want to get lost in a new game, but your old PC does not pull them even on minimal. A major upgrade or purchase of a powerful computer today is comparable to the purchase of a used car.

What to do? You can take a loan. And then with horror think about how to give it away.
Save money is too much long but you want to play now. Reconcile and play what pulls the current computer? The solution is to rent computing power from cloud providers.
Such services are provided today by Amazon Web Services, Microsoft Azure, Google Cloud, but it turned out that it is not so easy for a common mortal to lease their computing power. The interfaces of these services do not differ much in ease from MS-DOS, i.e. if you do not have the necessary technical skills, it will be extremely difficult to understand the settings - you need to view a lot of training videos and understand all the instructions.

And how Boosteroid will differ from Google Cloud and Amazon

Connect to the service can be will be both through the browser, and through the desktop application. The developers claim that the main difference between Boosteroid and other cloud services is a simple and intuitive interface.
The prototype application, published in the blog of the project, confirms this. The service visually resembles the design of the usual iPad.

For example, you need to make a 3D design apartment or play a game. You select the necessary program and immediately start it in the work: the system will itself select the necessary computing power. It's very simple, isn`t it?
But if you want, for example, to search for extraterrestrial life and you need certain computing power -it is no problem. You can set the parameters for your cloud computer.

Sounds good, but what there is besides the idea
The team pleasantly surprises. Unlike the projects that go to the ICO, the guys already have a data center in Ukraine - the presence of which is confirmed by a lot of photos and videos in social networks.

It is also noted that at the end of January this year the construction of a new data center in the Free Industrial Zone of Georgia - the city of Kutaisi begins. In 2018, the team intends to begin construction of data centers in the UAE and Iceland, and in 2019 - in Canada and in the United States.

It seems that the guys decided to take over the whole world).

I do not know about you, but I already want to offer a couple of bitcoins to the guys.
