The blowback on this will be significant. SegWit nullifies the exploit, so we know know why Jihan Wu has been blocking. What does Bitcoin Jeezus Ver think about this? Will SegWit adoption for Bitcoin now get a huge boost? Look at Litecoin 70% signaling and its price up nearly 3x because of it.

It's been known and there was even a previous attempt to change the pow based on it. It's all an attempt to attack bitmain for supporting BU. Blockstream will do anything at this point to get their ugly segwit hack in and preserve their business model.
I don't think this covert use was known until reverse engineering the ASIC chip. This likely to be a big buzz in coming days... the truth will out. It's crunch time.
