This is what I've felt and stated for weeks... 'blocksize' is merely a talking-point to obfuscate and stall any scaling upgrade to Bitcoin network that enables any layer two transactions. Of course this is protectionist, rent-seeking behavior that is becoming more transparent by the day. The mental judo needed by Roger Ver to avoid seeing this is remarkable.

Keeping scaling on-chain is inherently limiting and prevents the incredible reach (and privacy/fungibility) that Bitcoin would quickly get with a second layer upgrade via SegWit. Jihan Wu and his cartel buddies (he likened himself to OPEC) will block any Core proposal regardless of how large a blocksize increase is agreed too if SegWit is in the package. This is clear. One doesn't compromise with someone who is shackling you.
