I was under the impression that there is no function chain or wallet at this point. So the current price is just a bunch of traders playing with the futures, no?

    No. Public mining started today. MainNet went live today....not without a hiccup, but it is live. Markets, Wallets, and Mining are all active currently. https://bitcoingold.org/

    Once the exchanges switch from futures to actual BTG, the price will dump.
