Although correlation does not always imply causation, in the case of bitcoin I think its a sort of a sell-sustaining cycle, where every rally triggers mass coverage in news outlets, which in turn causes more searches by curious people, which in turn pulls in even more fresh money into the system.
Every time the mainstream media does a hit piece on Bitcoin they just add a million more curious people to the network hahah. It's like the demorats and fake news complex keeping Trump on the news all the time hahah
That also true. There's a saying in the advertising world that there's no such thing as bad publicity. So even the negative articles create even more awareness about bitcoin and cryptocurrencies.
