RE: BCC is already trading for about 10% the value of Bitcoin

in #bitcoin8 years ago

I'm dying to know if Bitmain gets behind BCC. If that happens, I can imagine a significant amount of hashrate may also migrate from BTC into BCC pools purely out of speculation.

Interesting times we live in!

Sort:

I expect it to be like ETC much cheeper than the "main" fork, but nice to have (especially for free). It was a good profit for ETC from $0.5 to $20. First days lots of whales will be dropping it so could be even worth buying some.

Yeah, it could be like the ETH/ETC split, but ETC was never backed by any major mining firms as far as I know.
Bitmain getting behind BCC will be a big shocker for the markets. Why?

Because all the hashrate that Antpool is currently directing to BTC, or at least a portion of it, may be put on BCC, which has the effect of making BTC less secure and BCC more secure. Additionally, if Jihan has been planning this switch-over all along while pretending to be fully behind the Segwit2x proposal, he may have stockpiled even more ASICs just waiting to be activated on BCC or any other fork with bigger blocks.

Isn't BCC the creation from Jihan itself?:)
