Interesting, why would you think scaling issues or backlog induced by ICOs won't prevent that from happening ? Will it be just a question of when will it happen ?
Well, the rapid growth is thanks to ICOs of course. It took Ethereum only 6 months to jump from 9 $ to over 300 $ and I think it will probably drive the price up as well in the future.
And the scaling issue is an uncerant problem. If the blockchain devs are going to find a solution or not on that, we'll never know.
