RE: What I think makes Bitcoin Bitcoin, and why I think Bitcoin Cash is Bitcoin
Very Wrong Ver continues to be wrong.
Best writeup on the subject -- https://hackernoon.com/thats-not-bitcoin-that-s-bcash-f730f0d0a837
Very Wrong Ver would like you to believe that his ego-project is something else. He neglects to mention that there's currently a large class-action lawsuit being aimed at him over his underhanded and deceptive practices.
Lightning Network has reduced fee payments to one satoshi -- 0.00000001 and a corresponding satoshi fee as well.
BCash hasn't had any traction, as shown by the graphs here -- http://fork.lol/tx/txs
Very Wrong Ver has gotten desperate, so now they're claiming to "burn" coins they earn in fees. Problem is, even at 12%, this number will be vanishingly small -- almost a rounding error off the remaining coins left to be mined.
There's also no proof that the coins they are sending to this "burn" address is unrecoverable, which renders the whole exercise moot to begin with.
Very Wrong Ver is going down with the ship, but you have a choice -- getting into the lifeboats instead of waiting for the "CEO" to turn this around.
Roger Very wrong.
Its an open-source meme, feel free to modify to your liking :)
I find it encapsulates precisely what Roger Ver is all about.
Name calling is how grown ups communicate nowadays?
Very Wrong Ver is more of a statement than "name calling".
If you are confused, I'd be happy to step you through it. Perhaps this detailed article can help -- https://hackernoon.com/thats-not-bitcoin-that-s-bcash-f730f0d0a837
In the end this isn't about Ver.
I'm not confused at all thank you and those articles don't really help.
Very Wrong Ver is absolutely the center of this shitstorm, seeing how its been him promoting and using underhanded tactics to dupe new users.
You not seeing it doesn't make it any less true.
If you don't like him, I don't really care that much. But I do object to smears and false claims of fraud.
In the end, it absolutely isn't about Ver. It's about wether Bitcoin Cash should be legally allowed to be called Bitcoin or not. It absolutely should, because Bitcoin is an idea. A design. That design is objectively outlined in a paper and and the software following it is open source.
Very Wrong Ver has absolutely been using tactics to confuse newbies, using his camped .com domain to misdirect, using the camped Twitter account (until recently) to do the same. These are documented facts that you're conveniently ignoring.
The class-action lawsuit is over his most recent illegal act, which involves representing Bcash as Bitcoin, when in fact what is sent to the user is BCH. This is the legal definition of fraud -- and why he's being sued.
The courts will decide, of course, but to sit there and tell us that you think he's doing nothing wrong -- well, you're playing a different movie in your head than what is happening in the real world.
Very Wrong Ver has used his platforms, his 500k Twitter followers, his sub-reddit, his multiple appearances on global television programs to represent his ego-project as Bitcoin. And it isn't.
Any of the other forks don't do this -- Just him. That should give you pause.
Very Wrong Ver is wrong, and it looks he won't stop being wrong.
I'd reconsider your devotion to someone who uses underhanded tricks and cheats to achieve their goals.
