US Marshals Service To Sell Nearly $25 Mln Worth Of Seized Bitcoin At Auction

The US Marshals Service has declared that it will sell roughly 2,170 Bitcoins seized over the span of different government criminal, common, and authoritative cases, an official statement expressed March 5.

The closeout will occur on March 19, 2018 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. EDT. Bidders who wish to take part should satisfy the enlistment necessities by twelve EDT March 14, finish with a $200,000 store.

The bitcoins will be offered in 14 unique squares: two pieces of 500 BTC, 11 pieces of 100 BTC, and one square of around 70 BTC. Winning bidders will be advised secretly an indistinguishable day from the bartering.

The scope of cases from which the bitcoins were seized is recorded in an official notice posted on the US Marshals Service site. Among the cases recorded is that of Shaun Bridges, the Secret Service operator who was indicted taking $800,000 in bitcoins in 2015.

The US Marshals Service has already sold totals of Bitcoin seized throughout common and criminal procedures. On Jan. 22, 2018, the office sold 3,813 BTC, a total that was worth over $40 mln by that day's trade costs.
