RE: So, Is this true? Please read and tell me....

Skimmed it.. But the general info sounds ok. Bitcoin mining and by extension transactions uses a tremendous amount of energy. Look up "china bitcoin mine" in youtube, and you can start to see why.

I don't think bitcoin is the reason we are behind on tackling climate change, I feel its got more to do with the attitude and approach of politicans and the general public.. If we really wanted to tackle the issues, we could. At least in the developed world.

A lot of energy innovation is being held back by our existing infrastructure.. The general argument is why build another solar power farm when we already have existing power plants that meet the demand.. This argument is played a lot, and with good reason... There are people that invested billions in our energy infrastructure...and they want a return on the money that they invested

Thanks for your reply! Appreciated! I heard from good friend about it and so I'm not too worried about it now, I forget what was said, but suffice it to say, we have bigger energy problems and it will probably shift in energy use anyway down the road, so I let it go. The article basically played on something that likely won't be an issue...And yes , but those existing power plants are all slowly failing and of course cost us in other ways...crazy world....
