President of the Federal Reserve: We do not study the adoption of the digital currency
Janet Yellen, chairman of the US Federal Reserve, said all members of the Federal Reserve Board of Governors have committed themselves to fundamental reforms to make the financial system stronger.
She added, on Wednesday: "The Reserve Council does not study the adoption of the digital currency," according to the agency "Reuters".
"If there is a negative shock to the economy, there is room to cut interest rates and use other instruments such as asset purchases."
The US Federal Reserve Chairman said she saw little exposure to major financial institutions due to volatility in the value of the "bitcoin".
