Real estate investments are considered extremely secure because data shows real estate goes up in almost every country if you wait enough. The problem with this type of investment is that it is not very liquid. Investing in real estate means your cash can be locked up. Real estate investments can be made into 3 different types of assets.

Developed Real Estate: This is estate that has already been built and can be used. You can live in it, rent it, or drive income channels from it by building businesses in it.
Off-Plan Real Estate: This is a speculative investment in a project being developed. The idea is to enter the project in its seed and get the property at a much discounted price than would be possible if the property was ready made.
Collectible Real Estate: This type of real estate is not common but there are large estates that count as collectibles. These appreciate over time and are good for investing very large sums of money but can take a long time to sell.

Liquid Real Estate

In theory, all the money these properties make can be tokenized and can then become tradable. Global REIT is the first move in tokenizing real estate on a large scale.
