Virtual coin ecommerce- challenges with volatility

I bought a $10 amazon card on coinsen yesterday for 0.25LTC. It seemed a good buy but now as LTC has gone up to 48$, felt it would have been better buying the GC with fiat than give up my LTC.

The real issue is the volatility in the crypto world. As someone who likes to buy things when there are good deals, why should i buy with LTC/BTC/ETC when there is no recourse to returns.
