I call this my first Blog Buy!!!! Turning ideas into real stuff!!!

in #bitcoin8 years ago

So anyone coming to steemit for their first time might not believe all the hype. I was one of those people. I know better to believe something sound to good to be true is usually simply not true. I figured I would show my first purchase that was all made possible using steemit. Here is my bitpay receipt and the item I just ordered from www.newegg.com

Theres my sales receipt above. Shows how much I paid in bitcoin to how much my bill was in usd.

This is my Micro USB OTG Host cable. It is definitely not the most expensive buy in the world but I bought it with money made from steemit. Its also my first purchase made with bitcoin. Up until a few weeks ago I had little understanding of either steemit or bitcoin. I could've spent 5-10 times as much buying one of these from the local Radio Shack but thats not how I roll anymore. :-)

I figured I'd make a post that I could share with my facebook friends which include some of the people that when I tried to explain these concepts to replied "I will just make some real money." Well when I have this very real item in my hand it can be a big I told you so. Of course I wouldn't call it a free lunch. Its not like I copied and pasted a bunch of youtube links. I did make some videos of stuff I like to do. Shared a little of myself. I also had to do a little learning of what steemit and crypto where all about but I was wasting a lot of my life doing things that paid off in nothing but a mad girlfriend. Now I have a mad girlfriend and a Host Cable.

For all those how don't know (I'm going to assume most do) but a USB OTG Host cable allows you to convert your smartphone or tablets charging port into a full sized usb port. Which I have used before for connecting a PS3 controller to and playing some emulators and other games. You can also use mouse, keyboard, flash drives, and actually charging another phone off yours. That comes in handy for turning an old phone into a great flashlight and powerbank. Putting that older smartphone from the electronics scrap pile into good use.

Well thank you steemit. If you please share something you bought from earnings from steemit in the comment section below.

Your first with something new like Steem is always memorable.
I'll post my first buy too once I make it. Mine will take a little longer to save up for however.

Congrats big time! Those usb otg cables are handy to have, so that is a good buy.

It's always the best the first time you get paid something, anything, for doing something you really, genuinely, deep-down-in-your-heart want to do. There's not enough of that going around these days, and you have every right to be excited!

That is pretty cool. Thank you for sharing, and that does show that SteemIt can be helpful even though it was a small purchase.
