Bitcoin is no longer a viable payment system

Did you know that it currently costs over $15 for a simple transfer using Bitcoins?

Compare it with free Steem or Steem Dollars transfers!
On top of being slow, with Bitcoin transfers taking an hour and sometimes days to confirm, Bitcoin wastes too much money and electricity on useless "mining" to ever be a viable payment system for every day use.

Bitcoin's POW (proof of work, aka mining) protocol is obsolete.
It is a giant lottery machine with no practical value.

Steem on the other hand takes mere seconds for global and free transfers making it a far better system for payments.

I guess we need to wait and see, which crypto will be the most viable . Thanks @slavix

Steem has a good chance to be among the winners in this competition.

I wanted to buy an alt-coin quickly so I dumped 100$ CAD (about $80 USD) into Coinbase BTC to trade for the alt and quickly realized how I got ruined with $15 fees. I should have bought Litecoin as an intermediary instead of Bitcoin. One of the main problems right now is that the Bitcoin speculators absolutely do not care because they let their coins sit on Coinbase and they never use it so they never get to pay those fees.

OMG. hadnt thought about that before. Guess it's a side effect of all these price increases.
