Venezuela: A Bitcoin Friendly Future?

in #bitcoin6 years ago

Big news in Venezuela as many countries recognize opposition leader Juan Guaido ‏as interim president. For more on the legitimacy of
this recognition, see the live stream today!

Regardless of what you think, Guaido is a bitcoin advocate who condemns Maduro's Petro as a disaster. A S**tcoiner vs a Bitcoiner? Could the future of Venezuela be bitcoin-friendly?

Very interesting development. If Venezuela was to recognise Bitcoin as currency it would reverberate around the world and cause Bitcoin to be recognised as currency in many other countries.
Under Israeli law, the currency of any other country is automatically considered currency so if any other country recognised Bitcoin as its currency, Bitcoin's status under Israeli law would change.
This is likely true of many countries.

Maduro only cares about Maduro. Many Venezuelans here, on the Steem blockchain, want to see him go. Also, a coup involves troops and guns ... Juan has done nothing but inspire the people with his words. Maduro has already shipped in some Russian contractors to help him "persuade" the Venezuelans:

Exclusive: Kremlin-linked contractors help guard Venezuela's Maduro

NOW THAT'S A COUP!

Would be very interesting is he promotes crypto. It could be a game change in many aspects. Unfortunately as he is government I don't hold out any hope, but it could be a small step in the right direction. One to keep an eye on for sure 💯🐒

It maybe friendly for crypto if he lasts on the sit ,but if he didn't ,crypto will die if maduro wins .
