King Jaja, sat on wearily on his stool
Wondering how this could be done
Business is bad, no gold, no wool
Many Merchants from Opobo, gone
Despair tore his heart like a knife
Many a time, he tried but failed
No comfort, not the lips of his wife
His happiness like a boat has sailed
"I will give up now" says the King
"I will give up my crown"
He packed up his golden ring
And prepared to leave town
Then at the nick of time, look!
A string of web hung from the top
A spider, eight legs and a hook
Going, up, up, no time to stop!
It must have his house in the roof
It was going rather merrily merrily
Swinging strong, going aloof
Its certain to get there, verily, verily
But look, the arachnid slips down!
His grip on the string loose
Without an hint of a frown
It got back to work, no ruse
Then it slipped again
Twelve and two times, it dropped
But look this thing is taking the pain!
Head high, the Spider got back up!
"Oh go little spider!" Jaja beamed
Unconcerned about King's cheer
The spider goes on forever it seems
Until it reaches its lair
