[BITCOIN] Turkey's Currency Plunges Amid Military Coup Attempt...

in #bitcoin8 years ago (edited)

"The Turkish lira declined 5% against the U.S. dollar, a dramatic move for a major currency. Reuters reported the Turkish military said in a statement that the military has taken over the country.

Reports about unusual military activity emerged on Twitter shortly before U.S. markets closed on Friday. Those early reports caused the iShares MSCI Turkey ETF (TUR) to close down 2.5%. The ETF, which tracks Turkish stocks, plunged another 6% in after-hour trading."

This news comes just a few weeks after Turkey said goodbye to poor old Paypal and adopted Bitcoin as their go-to provider for digital currency transactions.

It's events like these that will not only spike the price of Bitcoin but also convert more and more people into the Crypto world. This is a tragic moment but we have to remember most of these events are staged and planned by people behind close doors we have never seen...

The Blockchain, Cryptocurrency, and Bitcoin are the disruptors of these war games. I wouldn't be surprised to see a surge in Bitcoins price as this event unfolds. Hold on to your Bitcoin and hook up your Turkish friends with wallets!

Somebody should probably tell their citizens about steemit/steem :-).

I've seen quite a few posts from Turks today already, they're on it!

This is especially a good situation for bitcoin because of Paypal leaving the country. Bitcoin will fit the gap really well. Thanks for sharing !
