Bitcoin, a technological dinosaur in the cryptocurrency world

Bitcoin is now eight years old and this makes him a technological dinosaur in the cryptocurrency world. It's slow, transactions are costly and a single transaction can take half an hour or more. Small purchases? Forget about them, the transaction fee will likely be higher than the product which you want to pay for itself!

So is crypto doomed?

Well, not really. New generations of cryptocurrencies allow for very fast and cheap transactions, some like EOS promise to make transactions costs ZERO for regular users and push the costs on service providers (like eg Visa doesn't charge customers for transactions, but retailers).

Environmental damage done by Bitcoin miners is another thing. Did you know bitocoin mining consumes more energy then 5 million people developed country? How much CO2 is being produced by mining just this one coin?
