Let's all panic, and sell our coins

in #bitcoin7 years ago

So we have a fork in the road, in a bit less than 10 days.
It will permanently decide the future value of bitcoin.

I could start a debate over who is right, and what system is best for bitcoin, but to be honest, I don't care.
And further, I don't think other people care much, either.

People want bitcoin to be fast, cheap, and valuable. Right now we have the valuable, but not the fast or cheap. So hopefully some things change here, for the better.

I have faith in the free market. :)

But what will happen after the fork? Why has bitcoin been going up and up and up?

I believe that after the fork, bitcoin will correct. (A small bit relative to new growth.). Why?
People are investing specifically for the "free money" from forks.

When the chain forks, people get a copy of their balances on both chains.

Now, money doesn't come from nothing, and it certainly isn't free. Economics forbids that. But it would seem that people are investing in hopes of ending up with money from these tokens, and getting pure profits out of it.

This would also explain why altcoins are doing terribly.
(My poor Steem...)

So after the fork, it would seem somewhat likely that people will sell their bitcoin again. Either back into altcoins, or out of the system altogether, to get green wallpaper, instead.

So personally, I'm sell bitcoin now, and hoping to snag some really good deals on underpriced altcoins.
What are you planning to do?
