I think 2018 will be a crucial year for bitcoin. The price is down and will probably continue to fall for a while, but if we forget all the speculative talk, do you think Bitcoin can survive and become a real currency with LN technology?

For me, the fact that bitcoin no longer promotes anonymity is probably a good thing. To be honest, our Western governments will not allow anything for anonymous payments.

So the point is not to get rid (total) of the system. To pay taxes, I'm personally agree.
Whether it is an exchange currency, independent of banks and especially not owned by the central bank, it allows for a global reference.

In my mind, you pay taxes on each payment. It is called the "running costs of banks". And the banks look crazy. In 30 years, these banks have been able to establish their law, while they only have the role of making fluid exchanges (and, for example, helping to produce wealth). We have seen that this system is embarrassed, but some organizations have become too big to fail (so "above the laws" of the market and democracy).

Instead of paying these taxes to banks, you pay a tax to miners and government (tax). Instead of paying a toll to a bank, fuel the redistribution of state wealth. The state again finds some control over its currency and uses a neutral and free of charge intermediary payment.

The fact that the quantity is limited?

Yeah, maybe it's a problem. But it is divisible almost infinitely. So we can talk in BTC or satoshi, it's just a reference change. Knowing that in absolute terms there is no value, I do not mind (but speculation will have to be stopped at some point and I think that is happening right now).

Then bitcoin is not a way to help the "dark market". It's just a technology that eliminates the trust of a third party in a transaction.

Right, this is a pure mathematical vision, but it deserves a discussion!
