RE: USA wants.. Travelers to Declare Bitcoin at the Border!

This is just ridiculous :D

Reminds me of the Swedish Broadcasting Service that handles State Television tried to do a couple of years ago.

In Sweden everyone that owns any type of equipment that can receive a radio television broadcast have to pay a fee to the broadcasting company. It can in some way be understandable; but lets not get into discussion on whether or not state television is good or not.

However; They made all their broadcasts also publicly available on their webpage. Thus making everyone that had a internet connection and computer able to see their channels; thus trying to declare every computer, smartphone and internet connected screen a device that could receive the broadcasts; thus having to pay for even though you had no TV receive in the usual sense.

Lets just say they failed this;

Epic Fail

And that's hopefully what this will do to.

There is similar thing in Slovakia and the Czech Republic - if you pay for electricity, you need to pay for public TV and radio even if you don't have a TV or don't watch/listen to it.

And I thought Norway was weird . . .

That is pretty weird

(live in Norway and found a way to screw the government out of their damned 'TV License'.)

There's a similar thing in France too. Absolutely ridiculous. For me, I think it's a way for the government to enrich themselves. Incredible. How they function here is that they'll tax you first and then it's up to you to prove that you don't have a TV in order to get back your tax refund. I say good luck to anyone trying to battle the French administration system.
