The computer network of Midland, a small town in Ontario, Canada, was hijacked by hackers who demanded that ransom be paid in bitcoin (BTC). Email services and online payments were inaccessible due to malware installed by the hackers. Midland's officials have reportedly agreed to pay the crypto ransom in order to bring their computers back online.
