Happy Halloween and Happy Bitcoin Birthday everyone! Where to begin? Let's start with BTC and end with a halloween fright!
10 years ago today I was fucking off like most people. Doing the daily grind, going to work, etc. Little did I know that on Friday, October 31st, 2008 Nick Szabo, possibly with the help of Hal Finney, released the Bitcoin white paper to the world. Wait you're thinking "Nick Szabo?" Yes, Nick Szabo, creator of Bit Gold, smart contracts, university professor of law and cypherpunk. Evidence points to Nick being the author of the white paper. This article mentions the forensic linguistics study done by 40 UK university students at Aston University done back in 2014 as well as another researcher's conclusion, that Nick wrote the bitcoin white paper - https://www.coindesk.com/linguistic-researchers-name-nick-szabo-author-bitcoin-whitepaper/

"The number of linguistic similarities between Szabo's writing and the bitcoin whitepaper is uncanny, none of the other possible authors were anywhere near as good of a match."
Nick did a lot to cover his tracks, but just like a fingerprint, they way a person writes or speaks is also a unique identifier. Reading through the linked studies above you will see the evidence.
However, Nick may not have been alone. In fact since the launch of the bitcoin software Hal Finney was involved.
Hal was helping de-bug bitcoin since the beginning and should definitely be considered part of the team. He worked on bitcoin related projects until his death in 2014.
