A Sign of the Times for BTC Mining Operations?
Is this a sign of what's to come? Hashflare has announced that the maintenance fees associated with mining BTC have outweighed the payouts for the better part of a month. I've personally noticed that Hashing24.com has been collecting the maintenance fees for my mining contracts from my balance for the better part of the month.
How many more mining services will throw in the towel as a result of the current state of BTC mining? Is this good or bad for BTC?
What's the True Cost of Mining BTC
John McAffee has long predicted that the cost of mining a single bitcoin would soon rise to levels that are unexpected by many in the industry. It is his belief that this rise in the cost to mine the coin will directly result in the price of the coin rising to $1,000,000 per BTC by the year 2020. Wouldn't that be fantastic! Still, I'm not sure. We do see a lot of money going into cryptocurrency operations like Coinbase and Gemini, so it is hard to imagine that we'll see the end of cryptocurrency.
