Personally I don't think BCC will overtake BTC, however a lot of people made speculations in the past that were proved wrong with cryptocurrencies like Ethereum. Realistically you need to look into the uses of BCC to see if its worth it. BTC is just the market leader because it was the first. Ethereum has some practical uses, same with Ripple.
From what I understand, you currently can't send Bitcoin Cash to exchanges. The only Bitcoin Cash being traded right now are the ones that were provided by the exchanges. So I imagine a lot more Bitcoin Cash will be available once people can put it on exchanges from their wallets. Right now there is a little bit of Bitcoin Cash scarcity on the exchanges for trading.
Several of the biggest exchanges aren't recognizing bitcoin cash including BitPay and Coinbase..and they dont seem to be planning to. For me that's a red flag

That's true, probably not a good sign.
Its definitely worth considering, but supply issues may arise soon.
