Jesus is in his 30’s and at his height of sermon delivery and preaching.

Tiberius was tolerant of Jesus Christ and his preaching in the early days and even saluted him as a possible deity candidate for Rome and floated this idea with the Roman Senate, some sources assert.

But all is not good now for the Christians in ancient Rome – for Tiberius has been worn by the Sanhedrin who despise Jesus and... Emperor Nero cometh.

Jesus will soon be crucified, and so will begin great persecution of those who choose to follow the Christian faith.

Of all the Emperors of Rome, before Rome finally converts to Christianity, Nero will prove to be the most ruthless towards Christians.

I make a comparison between Bitcoin and Christianity – not because I am blasphemous, but because there are real similarities.

Both Bitcoin and Christianity asked people to believe in:

• In the novel idea of something very new that for the first time you could not see or touch.

• Something novel that is for absolutely anyone no matter age, sex or creed.

• Something novel that will change the world like nothing else in history.

• Something novel that is not of man, but mathematics in the case of Bitcoin and God in the case of Christianity.

• Something that represents freedom like never before.

• Something that requires you to have faith in times of adversity (thank you wstanley226 for reminding me of this important point)

We know what the outcome was – the Romans eventually bowed to Christianity and adopted it as their main religion.

It is quite likely Bitcoin will see the same destiny!

But, what of the time until then – will we endure the struggle until 'Rome adopts the new way’
