Korean designers do get inspiration from the west, but the clips added in the middle part weren't even "trends". Some were even seasons decades ago that made a mark in fashion history especially that iconic Balenciaga box-like coats. This is the case for ALL designers, almost all fashion houses get inspiration from past and other more known designers that's why we have that idea that fashion is just recycled. This documentary literally just cherry picked and made it look like Korean designers just copy and copy. Sure they're big in trends and Western "non-conformist" ideals will go against it, why should they be frowned upon when pretty much fashion is about trends? The literal copies are shady, but that's normal for items that people want to have and no one is enforcing the law against piracy, so it's only going to flourish.
