As most of you may know I am a venezuelan currently living in Venezuela. Beautiful and promising country where in spite of its evident human, natural and mineral wealth, currently there is a heinous economic hyperinflation and shortage of products of first necessity that is getting worse day by day. All this ugly, alarming and undesirable situation also aggravated by the ongoing foreign financial sanctions led by the governments of USA and many other countries of the European community against our current government and their political ideology.

However, in all this unfortunate panorama, what many around the world seem to forget or even completely ignore is the fact that the only victims who really suffer and are bearing the burden of these calamities is the great majority of our unprotected population and defenseless venezuelan citizens. A poor and middle class population who actually are making true magic to stretch their current rickety income to survive everyday. And who some of them with the technological resources, obviously are also trying to protect with claws and fangs the supposed 'value' of their humble digital assets and eventual 'savings' out of the many risks that our 'funds' could go tits down some day in the near future.

Ok, as you can see, all the above was just a simple introduction. A mere preamble about a ¿more serious issue? that undoubtedly is gonna affect all of you altogether in a not so distant future wherever you are right now. Yes! WHEREVER you live right now!

I just read an interesting article written by my good friend @tarazkp whose title is "Hearts, minds and missed opportunities" which I recommend you read before moving forward with this post. Well, do that if you want to understand and digest better the dish that I have prepared for you tonight. After having carefully read everything that he exposes on his article, I was ready to quickly drop a comment. But while I was reading also the comments he got, suddenly I stumbled upon a very interesting one made by @enjoywithtroy that left me thinking. 🤔

Along his comment @enjoywithtroy said something highly acute and discerning that usually goes unnoticed by most mortals out there in the 'wealthy' developed countries when they talk about the future.

He said:

Steem may very well be worth $100.00 one day. Exciting. But what if a $100.00 only buys you a mere loaf of bread as Germany had to face generations ago?

Therefore, after read that thought provoking stance. As you might understand. I had to give up leaving a simple comment in that post. And rather write a full article about the subject right away. Well, you already know me. ¿Right? :p

The actual uncontrollable and unstoppable deterioration of the economic situation in my country. Plus some interesting posts & quotes that I have read lately in relation to the current state of the economy worldwide, it was all the inspiration I needed to convince myself that this was the right time to write a thoughtful article on this matter.

For example this short quote:

“One day everyone in crypto will have to generate 'fiat' revenues and profits in some form”

I am sure that you've also seen thousands of videos on YouTube that talk, explain and predict the imminent collapse of the hegemony of the USD dollar and the consequent chaos on the economy in general since a few years ago. A great mass of audiovisual content that year after year only increases in number more and more with greater diffusion, eloquence, coherence and credibility that this feasible "Mad Max" event is very close to happen.

And jointly with that 'out of thin air' generated green bill collapse, maybe also could deeply cling and crumble swallowed down the toilet our beloved Bitcoins, Steem & Sbd, altcoins, et all.

I could post here one of those apocalyptic videos that I'm talking about. But seeing that every day a new one appears. And that each one of them is more coherently well explained and feasible than the other. I think I'm going to let you choose the one you like best of what is currently available out there. And for this post, I'm just gonna prefer share this one next:

However, as a reward to compensate you for your effort to have read this TL|DR waterfall of words thus far. I guess I would have to give you now the chance to respond to a handful of questions at least to make you happier. ¿Am I right? ;)

And since it is a weekend and you must have more free time as to answer each of these short questions, yeah! I will give you that satisfaction. ¿Are you ready?

¡Alright! here's the real deal of this post:

• In the case of massive global financial upheaval, what if it got so bad that entire fiat currencies worldwide were thrown into danger? ¿Huh?

• Wouldn't we need an urgent and quick replacement for day to day economic activity of any scale anyway?

• Comes to mind, that what happened in Greece and Cyprus is a great example of how quickly people can find themselves locked out of their life savings. ¿Right?

• In general, during a recession or depression people is gonna need cash anyway to spend and pay off loans and cover many other financial duties in their day to day brick & mortar world. They probably will need sell their crypto along with their stocks and other tangible assets at some point to be able to achieve just that. ¿Isn't it?

• But then, which fiat currency you'd think would be the one chosen to convert their digital hodlings to get the most out of them? Because at the end of the day, I believe people will be more concerned with not losing their house and/or putting food on the table than hodling some altcoin or bitcoin or whatevah intangible wealth can they think they have. ¿Correct?

But, Oh! well...

Nevertheless, despite all gloom and doom scenery deployed on this post, what I think is most compelling here is the fact that people now have crypto as an option at least. :)
