Who Is Satoshi Nakamoto?
Satoshi Nakamoto is a virtual name used by a genius or group of geniuses who designed bitcoin. Nakamoto also devised the first database of blockchain. He was the first on earth who solved the double spending problem for digital currency.
Nakamoto claimed he’s a 37-year-old man living in Japan on his 2012’s P2P Foundation profile. But many did not believe in his claim due to his proficiency in English. His bitcoin software was also not documented in Japanese. Nakamoto’s use of occasional British English spelling and terminology in source code comments and forum postings hinted that the original man behind the pseudo name Satoshi Nakamoto was of Commonwealth origin.
Nakamoto actively engaged in bitcoin development until December 2010. He built a website with domain bitcoin.org and continued to work with other developers on bitcoin software before he finally handed over control of the source code repository and network alert key to Gavin Andersen.
In 2015, 45-year-old Australian IT and security consultant t claimed heCraig Wrigh’s Satoshi Nakamoto. He reportedly provided evidence to the BBC to support his claim. The evidence included cryptographic keys linked to the same blocks of bitcoin Nakamoto sent to developer Hal Finney, in the first bitcoin transaction in 2009. Bitcoin Foundation co-founder Jon Matonis also supported his claim. Security researchers however later suggested that Wright’s evidence was scam and he was trying to fool the people.
At present Satoshi Nakamoto owns not less than one million bitcoins.
