RE: Is Bitcoin Really Anonymous?

in #bitcoin7 years ago (edited)

Very interesting and thought provoking article. I originally thought crypto had no inherent value and did not take it seriously. It took me 3-4 years to open my mind and look it at objectively and the many positives outweigh the negatives once I did my due diligence. One thing I've never quite been able to shake was what you brought up, "is it really decentralized". I've heard for many years that it will be the downfall of the banks. I wish that were true, but their power and influence is simply too great to let that happen.

The "not exactly knowing" where BTC came from is more than a little bit concerning. What better way to heard the sheep into the pen of a digital currency where we may all be sheared at once and very easily. Why this might sound pessimistic, I simply try to look at everything from all angles. When you do this, I feel you're much better prepared and aren't easily surprised. Why I love the idea of block chain and crypto, I think we must always keep our eyes open and prepare accordingly.

That would certainly be an unexpected twist in the plot. But then again if a central mastermind had the original intent of creating Bitcoin as a slight of hand to gather up all the rebels then I think they cannot have expected all of the derivatives that sprung out of the concept of blockchain with creators who are well known. The internet itself certainly turned out to be more than was originally expected.
