Lightning Network Takes Off 2018-07-10 🚀 A Second Layer for the Internet of Value! 💰
Dear Steemit friends,
i reported on June 24th about current usage of Testnet and also Mainnet des Lightning Network. Today i'll give a update and compare with past numbers:

Number of nodes is increasing again with high pace in comparison to prior time frame That means interest for usage of the Testnet grows strong the last 16 days. But i don't care because the usage of the Mainnet is much more important.. you'll see below in this article:

The number of channels is increasing again without any hype. But the number above (8882 channels) is different or higher compared to lnmainnet.gaben.win. But the trend for both is clearly up! The Mainnet usage is increasing, maybe we see a shift of convinced Testnet users to the Mainnet which would be a good sign. Let's look at the pure numbers:

The following chart visualizes the faster development of new nodes:
If we look for the channels, the number is increasing too:
We see good growth in comparison to the prior time frame. There is no viral network effect just constant growth without any hype. It progesses forward at least. To get the right perspective the number of nodes increased by factor nearly 7x and the number of channels by factor nearly 7x!
The current Bitcoin value on the mainnet is a staggering 54.35 BTC! That is a huge increase! to the prior time frame.. simply more than doubled! It is still tiny if we are looking at the whole crypto market but already $346,000 worth of USD and the question is what happens if some bigger company is adopting the Lightning Network?

As you can see in my table above we had a huge push of liquidity in the last 16 days. Andreas Brekken is one of the supporters and takes the lead as biggest node!

That's another step to mass adoption. Show the world the power of cryptocurrencies!
Many think a big leap forward also for Bitcoin price!
Think if you finally buy a coffee with Bitcoin for almost no fees! Wouldn't it be wonderful? In the following articles there is some speculation about Bitcoin price, nice read after all the FUD.
I'm hardly waiting for the momentum kicks in.. and the world realizes all the use cases together with Lightning Network!
So quite good news but still very early.. Overall we see progress forward, 2 steps forward, 1 step back, 2 steps forward,..

Impressive! Thank you for pulling together all the data. Especially the increase of the BTC amount staked is good, as well is the upcoming integration of merchants. Honestly didnt expect that. Is this a chance for a little spring after a long winter?

That should orchestrate a new bull run short or long term.. i don't know but it looks very promising even for end of 2018 and beyond.

Truly Lightening Network will introduce or help in introducing of many use cases because of the no fees or really unaffected fees, and in my opinion the Lightening Network will help in the acceptance of Bitcoin and it will going to expand the markets because if acceptance of Bitcoin will be more then Altcoins come to the picture.
And, the main effectiveness point is, community can launch their own coins according their use cases and they can continue their own local trading.

missed your comment.. thank you, BTC value is now already over 81 BTC, that's an increase of another 50% percentage points since my report here. Maybe this is already a turning point for acceptance or exponential growth is kickin' in, we'll see.
Yes, that's an great aspect about the Bitcoin, means it can change the phase quickly. In my opinion and my intuition is saying that now we are just connected with right track and this will push us towards that dream uptrend for sure. Stay blessed. 🙂
