Charlie Lee bets on 2018 for Lightning Network is taking off at Coinbase! - Bitcoin to da moon?

as assumed and now also almost confirmed by Charlie Lee Bitcoin should see a huge push in 2018! Lee mentioned Coinbase as possible first mover to use Lightning Network for it's userbase.

If that's happens it would be huge leverage in my opinion. Just imagine Bitcoin transactions in seconds with zero or almost zero fees?!

Conclusion?
For me it's holding Bitcoin and Altcoin as well. Just look at growth for Steemit and the price of STEEM and STEEM Dollar currently. Account numbers doubled in less than a half year! Bitcoin saw headwinds the last months with those extraordinary fees but don't crashed because of it's already huge network around the world. With Lightning it unleashes the promises by Satoshi Nakamoto in my opinion and Bitcoin Cash is not necessary anymore.

yes, that is what we take for granted in Steemit for example, lightning fast transactions, each upvote like for your nice comment is a transfer of value and i want it back so hardly for Bitcoin too. In the good old days of Bitcoin this was standard with a bunch of users around the world, now we see it again soon i think!
so this is really possible in this cryptos this would be a breakthrough
Yes it is and will, i'm sure. I think we get first big news in 2018 about that.
we really need lightening speeds of transaction no crypto is able to do that even steem after approval takes time they say 3 seconds block but in practical it is not
STEEM is wonderful because it provided that speed from the start and made Steemit possible. But i think LN is something really broad which is hardly needed now. We are experience this crazy development live, what a great time!

Yes that's my gut feeling. Lee is at the core and talks with many interesting people in the scene. He knows when is something coming.
@onetin84 that's true bitcoin is quite slow and also it has many cons you have really made a post on serious issues ......keep steeming !!!
LN will blast away most of the user specific issues, not the power of mining for sure. But it makes Bitcoin competitive again and not just a Gold 2.0.
Lightning net work is very new to me! but i don't knew more about that...
Even if you never know about that you will feel the improvement. When it starts it's several orders of magnitude better and is the basis for worldwide mass adoption in my point of view.

These alts profit also by LN, like Decred, Particl, Litecoin, Vertcoin and even the huge variety of ERC20 tokens. We'll see true decentralized exchange of value through atomic swaps or at least less centralized through exchanges like today.
