Whoppercoin is the new cryptocurrency of Burger King Russia

The fast food chain Burger King has announced the launch of its own cryptomeo - Whoppercoin, which is initially only available in Russia and should not be a competitor to Bitcoin.

According to Russian media, the conversion is simple: when buying a Whopper, the network's most famous snack, the customer receives a Whoppercoin.

It has not been clear how much money will be worth in the commodity exchange, but reports say it will soon be possible to exchange the coins held in digital wallets by more Woppers.

In practice, it's more of a loyalty card than a digital one. Yet it is yet another example of the worldwide furor over crypto-technology.
