Databroker DAO – a platform to trade IoT data

Every year, business owners as well as large state institutions spend big sums of money on buying IoT sensors. They use these sensors to collect data information about status of an object and state of the environment. In its turn, it allows to optimize operation of machinery and enterprises. Moreover, data obtained from these sensors are often used by scientists to make discoveries. In other words, information taken from IoT sensors is very useful and can be used to improve life of the humanity. However, at current stage of the development, there is one barrier: owners of such sensors do not cooperate with each other and their communities. A new platform called Databroker DAO will help change this situation.

Project’s goal

Primary goal of this project is to provide IoT sensor owners and individuals who need the collected information with possibility to cooperate. Thus, due to this cooperation, owners of sensors will be able to sell information lowering the price of equipment purchase and maintenance, while researchers will be able to obtain required data at affordable prices without buying IoT sensors.
In other words, researchers will no longer need to spend much time on buying such sensors and setting them up, or collect information manually. They will be able to visit the platform and buy information that they are interested in at reasonable price.
At the same time, in addition to collecting information for optimization of personal manufacture, owners of IoT sensors will have passive income, which will allow them not only to lower the cost of maintenance of these sensors, but also to buy new ones with purpose of modernization of absolutely all production processes.

About the project

The idea to create Databroker DAO platform originated back in 2016. In February 2017, product’s first demo-version was created. It was presented in London, Tokyo, Dublin, Paris, Berlin and in other cities. The results were stunning: almost everybody loved the idea of exchanging data from IoT sensors.
Last year in June, the developers realized that this project had huge potential and made a decision to hold first ICO. First placement of coins was conducted in last September with overall amount of collected funds totaling 960ETH. However, these funds were enough for creation of the base. More funds were needed for further development. Due to this, project’s management decided to conduct another ICO. Currently, preliminary sale of tokens is held. The start of official sale is scheduled for April 26, 2018.

Plans for the future

In the second quarter of 2018, the developers intend to launch a fully functional network. After it, they will distribute DTX tokens between investors.
The next stage of project’s development is staff expansion and recruiting new employees. The number of jobs will totally depend on popularity of the platform. In the end of the second quarter, DataBroker DAO platform is to unite with network operators in order to connect millions of sensors to the platform.
In the third quarter, the developers intend to slightly change platform’s interface in order to make work with the platform more convenient. Moreover, the developers intend to create special applications for mobile devices.
In the fourth quarter, white lists will be created. In other words, owners of sensors will have an option to choose who to sell their data to and for what price.
The developers have planned creation of the system of improved data for the quarter of 2019. Thus, buyers will be able to obtained already processed information.

Conclusions

The idea of creation of a platform to trade IoT data is rather appealing. Primarily, it is related to the fact that such solution will enable people to develop more rapidly and improve conditions of living. Databroker DAO is a project of the future that will be able to change the entire world.
