In Moscow, swindlers stole 15 million rubles in cash in exchange for bitcoins

A resident of Moscow applied to the police after he had stolen 15 million rubles in cash, which he was to receive in exchange for his bitcoins.

According to the information published on the website of the ГУ МВД России, the man came to a meeting with an unfamiliar person who was supposed to accept the transfer in the cryptocurrency and give him cash in the amount of 15 million rubles. The meeting was held in a rented office in the metro area of ​​Kitay-gorod.

As reported, the man came to the company of his "exchange agent", who was the organizer of the meeting. According to some sources, the "agent" at the time of the deal was just 21 years old. The press service of ГУ МВД describes the incident as follows:

The parties discussed all the conditions, and the representative of the buyer of the cryptocurrency brought in the package money in the amount of 15 million rubles, intended for the applicant. Then the victim transferred the bitcoins from his electronic account to the buyer's account. The meeting participants waited for the confirmation of the transfer, and the applicant was about to pick up the cash when the unknown people entered the office. They explained to the applicant that the man who bought the bitcoins was a fraud, and they have been looking for him for two weeks already. Then strangers, under the threat of violence, took the customer from the office, and at the same time they took the package with the money.

Following this, the scammers left the office in two groups and fled in different directions. As it turned out later, the office was removed without proper clearance for an assumed name and data.

This case should serve as a reminder that it is worth working exclusively with trusted exchange services, which have the reputation gained over the years and all the necessary guarantees of the transaction. Trusting unfamiliar personalities, you run the risk of losing money and harming your health or even life.
