How To Use Adwords To Promote Your Genesis Mining Affiliate Code
If you already follow me on Steemit, you probably noticed that I have been pretty quiet for a few days, that's because I have been busy working on a project. I decided to put my Genesis Mining code to good use and earn some hashpower to mine Dash and other crypto's.
Harnessing Branded Search
The best traffic to generate affiliate sales is "pre-qualified", in other words, people who we know are already interested in "Genesis Mining", because they typed that search phrase into Google.
Adwords & Affiliate Promotion
But there is a problem... Adwords only allow one advert per domain to appear in the search results for each specific query, so using raw affiliate URLs to link directly to genesis mining simply won't work because your ads will not run.
A Graceful Solution
By creating a landing page on a new domain that displays our affiliate code and then forwards visitors on to genesis-mining.com, we can gracefully avoid this issue. If we get it right, we might even benefit from additional exposure via organic Google search results.
The Build
In order to benefit from a high adwords quality score, and therefore gain preferential higher ad rankings and lower costs per click, we need to build a landing page that is highly relevant to the keywords we want to trigger our ads, these keywords should all be branded to ensure we are only paying for pre-qualified clicks, eg:
- Genesis Mining
- Genesis Cloud Mining
- Genesis Mining
- Genesis Bitcoin Mining
- Genesis Litecoin Mining
I chose to build my landing page on Wordpress because it's a very diverse platform that I am already familiar with. I knew I could quickly build a good landing page, and would even be able to monitor Google Analytics and Adwords directly from the Wordpress Dashboard.
In order to ensure that all visitors transition through my landing page via my affiliate link and armed with my unique discount code, the button uses javascript to copy my code to the users clipboard and open genesis-mining.com in a new tab, all on the same click. It also fires Google Tag Manager tracking tags, to let Google Analytics and Adwords know that a conversion was achieved.
Results After 1 Day
Because Hashpower rewards are paid to new affiliates at a rate of 2.5%, this means that at this stage, my Hashpower actually cost me more than it would if I had just bought it directly:
$92.30 / 100 * 2.5 = $2.31 worth of Hashpower
$2.31 to GBP = £1.79
£3.03 - £1.79 = £1.24 additional expense
But there are some important factors that we need to consider:
1. Every time someone signs up using my affiliate link, I will earn hashpower when they upgrade as long as they do not use someone else's affiliate code. This means that I am building a residual Hashpower stream, and over time, this will add up to a decent amount of free Hashpower.
2. Implementing conversion tracking in Adwords allowed me to enable enhanced CPC, this means that AdWords will automatically adjust my bids to maximise conversions. My cost per conversion will drop quite considerably as Adwords fine-tunes my campaign, a conversion rate increase of about 10% is a realistic expectation.
3. Whale Potential, if I land a subscriber who purchases a large package, the free Hashpower reward would be considerable. For example, if one of my converting visitors had bought a 40TH/s Bitcoin Mining package, I would have received an X11 upgrade of about 20MH/s on my X11 mining Hashrate, which would cost $130 if I bought it directly. Just one whale purchase will flip this campaign into massive profitability given the low outlay, and it's just a matter of time before that happens.
4. Affiliate rewards actually increase as you achieve milestones, I will receive 3% instead of 2.5% at my next milestone of $100 USD (only $7.70 away), this increases to 6% at the highest tier.

STOPI thought about running an Adwords campaign as well... was doing it with bitgold back in the days but I actually ended up to spend more than what I earned.... how is going the second day?
