Tron available on Samsung Blockchain Keystore

Tron is the fourth cryptocurrency to be added to the Samsung Blockchain Keystore. Even though CEO Justin Sun and the Tron Foundation haven't announced the partnership yet, Samsung has confirmed it with the release notes for its SDK update. Not only can Samsung users store cryptocurrency, they will also have access to decentralized apps.

Even though details about the partnership are not yet known, the price of TRX surged based on the latest news. On Monday TRX increased another 10% in value. The token is now trading at $0.021, which is up big time from last week's $0.015.

On Monday rumors about the collaboration between Tron and Samsung already circulated on Twitter. Some users posted photos with mentions of Tron within the Samsung Blockchain Keystore. At that time neither Samsung nor the Tron Foundation had confirmed anything.

Samsung Blockchain Keystore is only available on a select number of devices, including the Samsung Galaxy S10 and the Samsung Galaxy Note 10. These devices allow consumers to store cryptocurrencies in a hardware wallet, while giving them access to decentralized apps on several blockchain networks. Right now Bitcoin, Ethereum, Klaytn and Tron are supported.

Justin Sun always shilling his products

Last week Justin Sun was teasing the partnership. He said that Tron would partner with a hundred billion dollar mega corporation. In addition he mentioned that the partnership would benefit TRX, TRC10 tokens and TRC20 tokens. This would include gambling token WIN and BitTorrent's token BTT.

Now having Tron on Samsung devices, would potentially open up the possibility to bring decentralized games and services to the Galaxy S10. In addition BitTorrent could integrate peer-to-peer services, like its video streaming platform BLive as well as file storage through BTFS. Perhaps an official announcement from the Tron Foundation could shed some light on this.

Newly launched BitTorrent File System

Earlier this month the BitTorrent Foundation launched the BitTorrent File System (BTFS). BTFS nodes now allow users to delete files and directories from their node, while uploading and downloading files like always. Basically it's decentralized cloud storage. Soon users who share disc space will earn BTT for their contribution to the network.

Users will be able to use the BitTorrent client to reserve hard disk space for storage. The system automatically sends rewards to the integrated wallet. The network never stores data in one place, but splits it up in pieces and sends it all over the network. This guarantees that files are always accessible.

TRX just looks like a big scam to me.

Nah, it's a bit centralized sure. My major problem with TRX is that it's hardly used... every time a (big) project is launched on the Tron blockchain, it uses its own token. Sure, TRX is the base token on exchanges, but with TRC10/20 tokens being embraced by exchanges that's also worth jack shit. So you end up with a TRX token that has no overall utility, while you want that token to be at the center of it all.
