$150.000 watch has built-in crypto wallet

Swiss watchmaker A. Favre & Fils is developing a handcrafted mechanical watch with a built-in cryptocurrency wallet. It's a cold wallet, not connected to any online activity. The watch will be priced between $102.000 and $153.000, depending on whether it's metal or gold. A first prototype will be released in the Spring of this year.

The watchmaker family, who have been in business for over three centuries, compares their work with keeping 'steam engines relevant in the age of electric trains'. The watch needs to be 'useful to the crypto community', according CEO Laurent Favre.

The watch incorporates Blockchain technology and proprietary security expertise to guarantee security and privacy protection. The base of the device is hand-finished and equipped with an in-house manually wound mechanical movement.
