CASASCIUS PHYSICAL BITCOIN BARS

Casascius Physical Bitcoins are Highly prized and highly collectible, “Must Have” for any serious Physical Bitcoin enthusiast many of the Casascius coins are now highly sought after, especially the higher denomination ones as, over time, more and more have been redeemed.

Casascius Physical Bitcoin Series 1 100 BTC 2011 Bar

Two-thirds of owners rushed to redeem their bars in order to sell their precious contents as the value of BTC rose.

Material: Gold plated alloy
Diameter: 80 x 40 mm
Thickness: 6 mm Weight: 118 g (in wrap)

Casascius Physical Bitcoin Series 2 100 BTC 2011 Bar

bar-2.png

All Casascius bars are identical on the back with a smooth brass surface. This bar had the largest production of the denominated Casascius bars, with the most unopened specimens still remaining comes with stamped with ‘100 BTC’ below the hologram.

Material: Gold plated alloy
Diameter: 80 x 40 mm
Thickness: 6 mm Weight: 118 g (in wrap)

Casascius Physical Bitcoin Series 2 100 BTC 2011 'Unfunded Bar'

bar-4.png

These ‘Non-2FA’ 100 BTC bars are limited to a mintage of only eight pieces and to uniquely identify them as unfunded bars, these bars come with a ‘ZERO BTC’ etched hologram which is intentionally placed upside down. Additionally a small red dot was placed by the first-bits to further differentiate the hologram.

Material: Gold plated alloy
Diameter: 80 x 40 mm
Thickness: 6 mm Weight: 118 g (in wrap)

Casascius Physical Bitcoin Series 2 100 BTC 2011 ‘2FA Unfunded Bar’

bar-5.png

These bars were created from 100 BTC bars that were not funded or sold.
Only four 2FA 100 BTC bars were made with Mr. Caldwell’s idea to add a laser-engraved ‘ZERO BTC’ directly onto the hologram to make it clear that the intact hologram was not interpreted to mean that the bars contained 100 BTC.

Material: Gold plated alloy
Diameter: 80 x 40 mm
Thickness: 6 mm Weight: 118 g (in wrap)

Casascius Physical Bitcoin Series 1 500 BTC 2011 Bar

500.png

Only one of these bars remain in an unredeemed state, it will likely fetch the highest amount over face value compared to any other Casascius item if it is ever sold and there are laser engraved ‘500 BTC’ markings on the hologram in the same size and font as the same marking appears below the hologram on the bar itself.

Material: Gold plated alloy
Diameter: 80 x 40 mm
Thickness: 6 mm Weight: 118 g (in wrap)

Casascius Physical Bitcoin Series 1 1000 BTC 2011 Bar

a.png

This bar is among the most elusive and valuable of the Casascius bars. ‘1000 BTC’ and ‘One Thousand Bitcoins’ is laser printed on the bar (in the same manner as on the 500 BTC bar).

Material: Gold plated alloy
Diameter: 80 x 40 mm
Thickness: 6 mm Weight: 118 g (in wrap)

Casascius Physical Bitcoin Series 2 2011 ‘Storage Bar’

b (1).png

These bars were the first ‘empty’ item released by Casascius. They function like any physical Casascius coin in that Bitcoin can be sent to it using the first-bits, but redeemed only by removing the hologram.

Type: Unfunded
Material: Gold plated alloy
Diameter: 80 x 40 mm
Thickness: 6 mm Weight: 118 g (in wrap)

Casascius Physical Bitcoin Series 2 2011 ‘2FA Storage Bar’

c.png

The 2-Factor Storage Bar uses complex two factor authentication to access the stored BTC value once it is sent to the bar. These bars have their public address laser printed onto them, as well as ‘casascius. com/2 factor’ which explains how the bars work.

For an unknown reason, all the first-bits appear to be intentionally obscured by black pen marking.

Material: Gold plated alloy
Diameter: 80 x 40 mm
Thickness: 6 mm Weight: 118 g (in wrap)

Casascius Physical Bitcoin 10,000 LTC 2011 Bar

d.png

The most mysterious Casascius product is the 10,000 LTC bar, of which virtually nothing is known. The only available clue is this extremely poor quality photo, which does nothing more than confirm that Casascius once produced a bar with ‘10000 LTC.

It is not known how many were produced or if any were funded or sold.

Material: Gold plated alloy
Diameter: 80 x 40 mm
Thickness: 6 mm Weight: 118 g (in wrap)

Acrylic LTC 2011

d-1.png

The most ‘odd’ Casascius creation is the acrylic Litecoin round. They consist of acrylic ‘rounds’ laser-engraved with the Litecoin ‘L’ logo. Unlike all other coins and bars, these are made of transparent acrylic. The pictured rounds were given to Charlie Lee along with a 100,000 LTC bar.

  • Charlie Lee is an influential figure in the crypto-currency space, having been the creator of Litecoin.

Material: Acrylic
Mintage: <50
Denomination: LTC

Casascius Physical Bitcoin Series 1 100,000 LTC 2011 Bar

e.png

This is the only coin or bar that Casascius is known to have been funded with a non-bitcoin crypto-currency. The Litecoin bar is one of a kind and was created specially for Charlie Lee, the creator of Litecoin.

Type: PF
Material: Acrylic
Mintage: 1
Denomination: 100,000
Material: Gold plated alloy
Diameter: 80 x 40 mm
Thickness: 6 mm Weight: 118 g (in wrap)

Holy crap that is so cool! Maybe one day I will have one as well? A man can dream :D

Wow ~ they are truly beautiful. 😍😍😍😍

It would be really strange if some Bitcoin admirer wouldn’t try to have real coins in the real world.

these gold bars are hilarious 500,100 bitcoin and 10000+ litecoins.
If some guy invested back then he just couldnt lose.
probably the best Combo you can get right now-brilliant!

I wouldn't mind having a few bars.

how can i get my hands on one of these

that's cool can i have one :)
brilliant article!

What a professional post, as always. I wish I could help this as far as possible because people need to know something today they didnt know yesterday, this is the future so it would help build worth if people knew where it comes from amd where it is heading before the future swallows them up and they find themself in a new world with no knowledge or reference in how to operate therein. Im waiting for the day you drop something on us that completely blows our minds! 😃

Those are just awesome...!

1000 bitcoins now would be 14 millions dollars.

That is somehow even more beautiful than the bars themselves.

yo lemme get some of those

It's hot can I have one. Would not mind have a few bars.It would be really strange if some Bitcoin admirer wouldn’t try to have real coins in the real world.

Thank you my dear friend. I always with you. many many thanks.

Cool stuff yet again @nathansenn. I honestly didn't know a lot of these even existed so I appreciate the posts on these things. Over time as blockchain takes over the current financial systems worldwide, these collectables are going to have insane values for the most part.

PS I wish I had the one of a kind Litecoin bar as I am more a LTC guy then a BTC guy. Charlie Lee for president!

Mega cool. I want some bars to take away :)))

with the todays gold price of 42$ per gram, the 1 BTC = 333 Gram , 500 BTC = 150 kilogram 👌

Quite a huge goldbar istn't it 😂😂😂😂

wow wow amazing bars. will love to have one ;)

they looks amazing really, thanks for info...

And where can they be bought? Order by mail?

These are rare and hard to find. You would need to look on bitcointalk in the collectors section.

Thanks for infotmation bro (:

Thank you very much. I think the bitcoin is not physical. But after i read your writing right now i know it.

These bars are absolutely beautiful! If I had to describe them to someone who knew nothing about crypto I'd tell them 'Imagine space pirate treasure and that's what casascius are!'

I think if I were to own one of these I'd tie it to a necklace and just wear it for a day around the house......no clothes, just the bar......and myself. (Yea don't think that's a good visual either) 🤔

The ironic thing to me is how our group in Buffalo, NY was just talking about these!

Looking forward to the next post!
