bitcoin? I don't care...

why the majority of Europe inhabitants do not care about bitcoin and crypto currencies and are often scared when we try to talk about it?
As if Bitcoin is the devil himself. Ethereum, dash, litcoin, steemit and the others his disciples.
Some governments including the french one have clearly pushed for this confusion in most people head. As the majority of people are followers and as long as the rulers will not regulate in some way the crypto currencies sector, they will not move.
When I try to invite on Steemit some french friends who are using Facebook or Instagram they answer no with a smile, as if I was crazy....
They can post photos or texts helping Facebook get money but for them it is impossible to win money "doing" nothing . It is too easy, there is surely something wrong behind the whole blockchain area.
They take as example faucets and mining websites were 90% of them are purely scams or a few ICO scandals, that newspapers are always happy to reveal, and immediately forget financial scandals mingling government officials.
Maybe after the first regulating law we will witness a massive adoption of the crypto currencies when banks and governments officials will have secure their position.

I think the problem is that current adult population is not digital native. There is a sort of mistrust towards intangible assets. I guess future generations will take advantage of this currency more than we do today.
