We shall check on its survival at the end on the month, after the hard fork. Still, it's a great progress but I don't believe that it will reach 10k by the end of this year. I won't say not even 8k. Can we check back to see who was right by then? :)
The hard fork on the 25 will disrupt the process for sure. But i think bitcoin will resist and keep growing :)
