In addition to the usual malware attacks, Android users have to worry about even greater threats. That's because in recent research researchers have reported finding at least three false wallets of Bitcoin in the Google Play Store. These applications, once installed on the phone, had access to private user data, from password to more diverse files.

The research was done by IT security researchers at Lookout who reported that the main intent of the applications was to steal data that was related to Bitcoin on users' cell phones. With the currency in evidence and more and more people adhere to technology, malicious hackers are always very open-minded and ready to take advantage of the unprepared.

Applications basically intercept authentic Bitcoin transactions where one party (the recipient) has its address changed at the time it is going to receive the transfer. The malwere causes that, instead of presenting the user's address, the application presents the address of the attacker, thus causing the Bitcoins to be forwarded to the hacker's address.

Keep an eye on the three applications of fake Bitcoin wallets:

Bitcoin Mining

The application developed by Pyramix Studio already featured comments from users with serious charges. One user accused him of attempting to steal Google's password. The prompt developer responded by denying the allegations. Later it was discovered by the Lookout researchers that the App in fact was working on any data, once arranged in the mobile.

Blockchain Bitcoin Wallet - Fingerprint

The app that already had between 5 and 10 thousand downloads in the Play Store, said to offer services of purchase and sale of criptomoedas. Before discovered, the App had no great fame among the appraisers, who did not even understand its purpose, since it did not perform here that it promised. But the purpose was ... we know which.

Fast Bitcoin Wallet

This application promised to offer an incredible experience for Android, when it comes to digital currencies. Well, it happens that the App ended up stealing private data from various users, as well as their Bitcoin wallet addresses.ransomware-2321110_1920.jpg
