There’s some headline flying around about the World Bank and the International Monetary Fund creating a cryptocurrency, which is untrue so I’d like to share the facts and clear this up for you in a concise package.

Excellent break down on this news!
While it's not really the news the headline makes it out to be, it does sound exciting.

It's good to hear they're applying resources to learn about blockchain and crypto currencies.

Desire for knowledge must be given the benefit of the doubt and considered "good news." Yes, one can study in order to learn how to dismantle something else, but we have to try to applaud positive behavior even when it appears to be coming from "a camp" one has traditionally identified as "an enemy."
For cause, crypto enthusiasts have made a mini-career at naming traditional banking procedures and decrying fraudulent practices. I would love to see a voice doing the same thing about positive practices. Doesn't matter if we doubt the motivation. If the step is toward adoption or appears to be an effort in that directions, I value that action in word and action until I learn otherwise.

Thanks, for clarification., compare to headlines it was making around crypto community.

Indeed, establishment seeing the future and attempt to join the party.

I agree ... better 'they' learn first than just cry about... So the 'Learning' phase is where located in the "Bitcoin and the Banks - Five Stages of Grief" from Andreas A.? the 6th phase?

Thanx for clearing this up. Internal "Learning Coin", funny and fun. A new kind of "Credit"-System like in the Bologna model.

#Knoawledge is essential in general -- People should get paid for doing researches/studies -- This is obvious that an outcome of #edumecation is always constructive. There is no time for wondering if this is possible -- There is a need for a compassionate approach to the work of reshaping the system and world.

How fast times are changing! There will soon be more adoption as many continue to see the benefits and the economic challenges ahead provide an incentive to adopt.

It is a good way to try and see how this technology works. At least they're interested in learning about it.

I think this should be classified as a soft launch for a cryptocurrency named "Learning Coin" - they didn't launch it since it isn't available for the public yet but they still launched a use case of a cryptocurrency that will be used internally by their employees, hence the "soft" in the term "soft-launch".

Maybe a little step for a large organization but a step in the right direction never the less.
