Sadly people will never learn. FB will be big thanks to their marketing. Still good for BTC in the long run.
Facebook could act in a way that shows others the value of distributed ledgers and how crypto works, but is Facebook the entity that you want to trust to carry that flag? Not for me.
Story one about Fidelity and energy issues was certainly of interest, but just like your Facebook story sounded like a reinvention of BAT, the energy story reminded me of the lost potential from Envion. They were going to use solar energy to mine. All looked so good until one (at least one) bad actor brought all to a screaming halt.
FaceBook invents everything in house so their "coin" will 100% be closed system/permissioned ledger and invented in house. It won't be a crypto currency in any form you would recognize it.
Current financial system as Jesus? Well, it has saved a lot of lives over something like communism I guess... but Jesus is a bit of stretch ;)
Love that. Have sent some BAT from a mobile grant I received. Still love Brave and BAT. But what facebook seems do be doing would really bring some effortless mass adoption and change thw way of doing business for a long time.
Facebook venturing into a crypto just legitimizes the technology more as decentralization will be the key longer term!
